Cashel Councillor Condemns Neglect After Dead Horse Left Beside M8 Motorway for Days

A County Councillor in Cashel, Liam Browne, has raised concerns after a horse was reportedly found dead in a field beside a busy road near the M8 motorway for several days. The councillor was alerted by a photograph taken from the slip road onto the motorway and confirmed the animal had been there since at least Monday. Describing the image as distressing, he plans to contact the local authority’s environmental section to ensure the immediate removal of the horse’s remains.

Cllr Browne also appealed to horse owners to take proper care of their animals, urging them to rehome horses responsibly rather than leaving them to die neglected in fields or on roads. His comments highlight the need for greater animal welfare awareness and prompt action in such cases.
