The W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center at Cal Poly Pomona, celebrating its 100th anniversary, honors the legacy of cereal magnate Will Keith Kellogg, who established the center in 1925 to breed Arabian horses near his winter home. The center, known for its historic Sunday horse shows and Arabian horse breeding program, serves as a hands-on learning environment for students studying veterinary and equine care. It also supports community engagement through public tours, monthly shows, and programs like Horses for Heroes, which offers therapeutic experiences for veteran students.
The centennial celebration on May 3 will feature a horse show highlighting the beauty, intelligence, and cultural heritage of Arabian horses, along with festivities including vendors and entertainment. The center continues to be an integral part of campus life, providing students with practical experience in horse care and fostering a connection between the university, veterans, and the broader community, all while preserving Kellogg’s vision and passion for Arabian horses.
