Barbara Ann Wargo (1947–2026): Beloved Educator, Community Volunteer, and Horse Enthusiast

Barbara Ann Wargo, born November 9, 1947, in Wall, South Dakota, was a dedicated educator and community member who passed away on February 22, 2026, in Whitesboro, Texas, due to stroke complications. After graduating from Rapid City Central High School and Black Hills State University, she pursued a career in physical education and later worked in business offices in South Dakota. Barb was deeply involved in her family’s activities, especially supporting her sons in horse showing and rodeo events, and had a lifelong passion for flowers.

In 2013, Barb relocated to Texas to be near her son and remained active in her church, contributing through bookkeeping and volunteering at the Helping Hands resale store. She is survived by her son Trent, siblings Bonnie and David, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services are scheduled in both Texas and South Dakota to honor her life and legacy.
