Ballard and Chatadel PS Claim First CSI3* Win at Kentucky Spring Horse Shows

Kentucky Spring Horse Shows proved to be a highly successful event for Ballard and his horse Chatadel PS, who secured their first CSI3* win. Ballard praised the event’s timing and setup as ideal for preparing horses for the season, highlighting Chatadel PS’s exceptional speed and ability to leave strides out effortlessly. The challenging course designed by Guilherme Jorge tested riders with complex combinations and tight turns, but Ballard’s fast and faultless round set a winning pace that others struggled to match. Worthington’s strategic, careful ride earned her second place, while Vale finished third despite a near-miss on time.

Ballard has been developing Chatadel PS since the horse was seven years old, noting the stallion’s consistent success when moving up levels and expressing optimism about his future potential. The team values the Kentucky Spring Horse Shows for their national schedule and large ring size, which Ballard believes is crucial for conditioning horses for major international venues like Spruce Meadows. With plans to compete in Europe and return to Ocala, Ballard affirmed that the Kentucky event will remain a key part of their annual competition calendar.
