Back Country Horsemen Seek Riders to Help Maintain Croatan National Forest Trails

The Back Country Horsemen of the Croatan, a volunteer horseback riding group, maintains about 15 miles of trails at Pine Cliff Recreation Area in Croatan National Forest, Craven County. Established in 2013, the group meets once or twice a month to help keep the trails clean and accessible for all users.

They are hosting a meet-and-greet ride this Saturday to welcome new riders interested in joining their efforts. The group is affiliated with the national Back Country Horsemen of America organization, which supports trail maintenance on public lands nationwide.
