Austin David Burcham, 26, Beloved Nebraska Resident Passes Away After Car Accident

Austin David Burcham, 26, of Newcastle, Nebraska, tragically passed away on February 24, 2026, due to injuries from a car accident. Born in Topeka, Kansas, Austin was deeply involved in his community, participating in 4-H, FFA, and showing horses at the Cedar County Fair, which he loved dearly. He worked at Carhart Lumber Company and was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and joyful spirit. Austin was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church and cherished spending time outdoors with his horse Charlie and dog Macy, as well as enjoying football, hunting, and family activities.

Funeral services will be held on March 2, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Church in Maskell, Nebraska, with visitation the day before and one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Cedar County Fair. Austin is survived by his parents, siblings, grandmother, nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends. He is remembered as a compassionate and generous individual whose impact will be felt by all who knew him.
