Andrew Fernung, 35, recently joined the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company as assistant sales coordinator, following in the footsteps of his father, John Fernung, a respected horseman in Ocala. Andrew’s family has deep roots in the industry, with his aunt and uncle, Crystal and Brent Fernung, also involved in Journeyman Bloodstock.

Starting at a young age, Andrew worked with horses and eventually decided to pursue a career in the industry. He credits his father with teaching him the importance of hard work and surrounding himself with good horsemen. Before his father’s passing, John was proud to see Andrew’s progress in the industry.

Andrew’s experience as a farm trainer at Journeyman Bloodstock and with Eddie and Angela Woods prepared him for his new role at OBS. He now works alongside the sales coordinator and president, helping with inspections and preparing for online sales. Despite the demanding nature of the industry, Andrew values the opportunity to work at OBS and looks forward to the future.
