Winter Equestrian Festival 2025 Drives $538 Million Economic Impact in Palm Beach County

The 2025 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Palm Beach County generated a record $538.2 million in economic impact, marking a 33% increase from 2024’s $403.6 million. The 13-week event attracts 31,000 competitors from over 50 countries and all U.S. states, significantly boosting the local economy through job creation, lodging, and tourism expenditures. Key highlights include nearly 4,900 jobs created, $153.9 million in labor earnings, and a dramatic rise in spectator spending to $88 million, underscoring WEF’s role as a major economic driver and premier equestrian event.

Looking ahead, WEF 2026, running from December 31 to March 29, will offer over $16 million in prize money and feature significant venue upgrades to enhance the experience for riders, spectators, and sponsors. Wellington International aims to maintain its status as the global leader in horse sport by investing in world-class amenities and infrastructure, ensuring the festival’s continued growth and impact on Palm Beach County’s sports tourism economy.
