Clare Fitch achieved a significant milestone by winning the championship at Royal Windsor with her pure-bred Arab gelding, AJA Giuliano (Julie). Despite her extensive experience and multiple titles at prestigious events like the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) and Royal International (RIHS), this was only her second victory at Windsor. Clare expressed her excitement, noting that this title had always eluded her, especially since she couldn’t compete at HOYS this season due to a judge connection.
In the reserve position was Sian Warman, who rode EKS Alihandro stallion Waliandro, a horse she has produced for four years. Sian praised Waliandro for his exceptional temperament and versatility, highlighting their enjoyable partnership. She recently returned from judging in Australia and expressed her aspiration to ride in the Castle arena at Windsor, which she described as having an incredible atmosphere during the championship.
The part-bred Arab championship saw Hannah Horton riding Stage Diva to victory for the third consecutive year, showcasing the mare’s consistent success at Windsor. Chloe Salley and her pony, Copybush Timelord, also had a remarkable week, winning the 148cm show pony class. The overall in-hand Arab title was claimed by John Harvey’s gelding, Elmswood Star Struck, indicating a strong showing for part-breds at the event.
