The Trempealeau County Humane Society recently rescued 27 animals—including 10 puppies, 12 adult dogs, and six horses—from an animal neglect case in Juneau County. One horse was in such poor condition it had to be euthanized. The shelter, which typically has few dogs, faced a sudden strain on supplies and reached out to the community for help. In response, they received hundreds of boxes of donations, with support coming from people even hours away.
Despite the generous donations, the shelter still faces significant challenges, including the need to spay and neuter all the rescued dogs and provide vaccinations, which will be costly. The Humane Society continues to seek financial and supply donations to care for the animals and encourages those interested to contribute through their website.
