Pickle, a tiny one-year-old Shetland pony standing just 28 inches tall, was found critically ill and unable to stand at a site in the West Midlands. Diagnosed with multiple serious diseases including strangles, equine flu, and salmonella, Pickle required urgent and intensive veterinary care. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of World Horse Welfare and veterinary teams, he was nursed back to health and eventually moved to Penny Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Lancashire, where he has since thrived and become a favorite among visitors.
Now healthy and playful, Pickle enjoys spending time with his best friend Cheddar the Cob and is known for his charming personality despite his small size. Although still undergoing rehabilitation, Pickle is expected to be available for rehoming later this year, with many eager potential adopters anticipated. His recovery story highlights the impact of dedicated animal welfare efforts and the joy that rescued animals can bring.
