Tiny pony Pickle makes remarkable recovery after near-fatal illness at World Horse Welfare center

Pickle, a tiny pony who was found last year unable to stand and struggling to breathe, has made a remarkable recovery thanks to the dedicated efforts of World Horse Welfare and veterinary teams. Diagnosed with multiple illnesses including strangles, equine flu, and salmonella, Pickle was extremely weak and repeatedly collapsed. After intensive care and treatment, he gradually improved and was transferred to World Horse Welfare’s Penny Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Lancashire, where he has thrived.

Now about a year old and only seven hands high, Pickle has captured the hearts of visitors with his small size and charming personality. Although he is not yet ready for rehoming, he is enjoying a happy life playing with other ponies and making up for lost time after his severe early illness. The charity continues to care for him, supported by partners who provided a specially sized headcollar for the tiny pony.
