Thorpedo Anna Dominates Grade I Apple Blossom Handicap at Oaklawn Park

Thorpedo Anna won the Grade I Apple Blossom Handicap at Oaklawn Park, adding to her impressive legacy with a 4 1/4 length victory. The reigning American Horse of the Year has now won 10 out of 12 starts, including the Kentucky Oaks and Breeders’ Cup Distaff.

Carl Spackler emerged as the turf mile champ of Keeneland by winning the Grade I Maker’s Mark Mile by 4 1/4 lengths. The victory backed up his previous win in the Grade I Coolmore Mile and added to his Grade III Kelso and Grade I Fourstardave wins.

Preparations for the Kentucky Derby continued with no major developments, while the Stonestreet Lexington Stakes saw Gosger, a Nyquist colt, win by 2 lengths. The Preakness Stakes could be on the horizon for Gosger, according to trainer Brendan Walsh.
