Texas DPS Horse-Mounted Officers Capture Previously Deported Illegal Alien Child Predator Near Border

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) horse-mounted officers apprehended Marcio Steven Izaguirre, a 41-year-old Honduran illegal immigrant and convicted child predator, near the Texas-Mexico border in Maverick County on New Year’s Day. Izaguirre, who has a lengthy criminal history including child molestation and multiple deportations since 2004, was found hiding in desert brush after a drawbridge camera was triggered on a private ranch. The arrest was part of “Operation Lone Star,” a Texas DPS initiative aimed at curbing illegal immigration and enhancing border security.

Texas DPS, working alongside U.S. Border Patrol and K9 units, apprehended multiple illegal immigrants during the operation, emphasizing efforts to prevent border crossings and maintain safety. Texas, which shares over 1,200 miles of border with Mexico, is unique among southern border states for banning sanctuary jurisdictions and mandating cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities under agreements like 287(g). The state’s strict immigration enforcement policies reflect its commitment to border security and public safety.
