Tashi Breaks Through for First Group 1 Win in 2025 Tattersall’s Tiara at Eagle Farm

Tashi, trained by Peter Snowden, broke her streak of second-place finishes with a commanding two-length victory in the 2025 Tattersall’s Tiara at Eagle Farm. The five-year-old mare, ridden by Tom Sherry in his first Group 1 win, showcased a powerful late surge over 1400m to claim her first Black-Type success and push her career earnings past $1 million. Snowden praised Tashi’s grit and the perfectly timed ride, marking his second Tattersall’s Tiara win as a trainer.

The race saw early leader Floozie fade to fifth, while Abounding and Olentia secured second and third places respectively. Following this breakthrough, Snowden plans to spell Tashi before targeting the Sydney Spring Carnival, including the Sheraco Stakes and Golden Pendant, with a potential shot at the Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes in Melbourne later in the year.
