After more than 50 years in law enforcement, retired officer Greg Friberg has found a meaningful way to honor fallen police officers by creating hand-drawn portraits of them. Starting in 2018, Friberg began drawing portraits of officers who lost their lives, sharing these framed artworks with police departments and families to offer comfort and remembrance. His work reflects the deep brotherhood he feels within the law enforcement community and his desire to help ease the grief of those left behind.
Friberg’s portraits, including those of officers like Chuckie, Michael Michalski, Matthew Rittner, Peter Jerving, and Kendall Corder, have become a heartfelt tradition. Though he hopes he never has to create another, his drawings serve as a lasting tribute to fallen officers and a symbol of solidarity among police families and colleagues. Now enjoying retirement on his horse farm, Friberg continues to use his artistic talent to honor his fellow officers and support their loved ones.
