A 10-year-old grey pony named Marble was rescued by the Horses and Ponies Protection Association (HAPPA) after being found isolated and neglected in a field. Previously bought as a companion, Marble was forgotten when the other horse left, resulting in poor care, limited interaction, and health issues including poor sight and dental problems. After being signed over to HAPPA, Marble received dental treatment and now wears a UV mask to protect her sensitive eyes, with the charity providing ongoing care and support for her recovery.
HAPPA highlights a growing epidemic of horse abandonment, with numerous cases of neglected horses, ponies, and donkeys requiring urgent rescue and rehabilitation. The charity is appealing for donations and sponsorships to support Marble’s rehabilitation and the many other animals in their care, emphasizing the critical need for public help to combat this rising issue.
