Peter Murray, president of Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria and founder of menswear label Blazer, has joined the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) board, filling the vacancy left by David Barham. Murray, who took over as TBV president in August last year, brings extensive experience in both racing and breeding, having owned and bred multiple Group 1 winners and collaborated with leading studs. His appointment completes the VRC board’s full complement of 11 directors, including chairman Neil Wilson and deputy chair Michael Ramsden.
Murray expressed enthusiasm for contributing his business acumen and racing knowledge to the VRC, the world’s largest racing club, emphasizing the club’s outstanding facilities, passionate membership, and prestigious racing calendar. His addition strengthens the board’s expertise in breeding and bloodstock, complementing existing members with deep industry backgrounds. The recruitment process highlighted Murray’s respected standing across the racing community and his potential to help the club achieve its strategic goals.
