Peanut and Popcorn: Donkey Duo Rescued and Rehomed Together for Christmas

Peanut and Popcorn, two donkeys born at World Horse Welfare’s Belwade Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Aboyne after their mothers were rescued while heavily pregnant, have found a loving new home together. Despite being born ten weeks apart, the pair share a strong bond and were rehomed as a duo in late September, overcoming the common challenge of finding space for two animals. Their new owner, Carol, who already had two donkeys, welcomed them warmly, noting how Peanut and Popcorn have brought energy and joy to her existing animals.

Carol was inspired to rehome from a charity due to the many neglected animals in need and praised the Belwade Farm team for their support throughout the process. She emphasized the importance of giving animals a second chance and expressed hope that Peanut and Popcorn will enjoy many happy Christmases in their forever home, while also making room for more rescues at the centre.
