OLG Launches Online Horse Race Wagering in Partnership with Woodbine Entertainment Group

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has launched online horse race wagering through a partnership with Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG), enabling players on OLG.ca and the OLG app to bet on live races from Ontario and global tracks, including major events like The King’s Plate. Powered by HPIbet, Canada’s leading horse racing betting platform, this integration offers a streamlined, user-friendly experience while maintaining the pari-mutuel wagering system, which pools bets and channels revenue back into the horse racing industry to ensure fairness and sustainability.

This initiative marks OLG as the first Canadian provincial lottery to offer digital horse race betting, expanding Ontario’s racing market alongside bet365’s 2022 entry. The collaboration supports the province’s horse racing sector, which sustains around 23,000 jobs, by preserving industry profits within Canada and promoting growth through a plug-and-play solution that other operators could adopt. OLG also emphasizes responsible gambling, providing tools and resources to help players maintain healthy betting habits.
