Vanessa Volker and her mother, Janice, have run Lucky Star Equine in Northern Colorado for 18 years, providing horse riding lessons, training, and rescuing horses in need. Now, they face an urgent crisis as their property owner has put the land up for sale, forcing them to find a new home for their 25 horses by April 1. Because they work long hours daily, they need a property that can accommodate both their residence and the animals, making the search especially challenging.
Lucky Star Equine serves as a sanctuary for rescued and retired horses, offering them permanent care regardless of age or ability. The facility is also valued by the local community for its expertise and kindness. With the deadline looming, Volker and her mother are struggling to keep the business running while urgently searching for a new location. Despite the uncertainty, Volker remains committed to the horses and hopes for community support to secure a new home. Donations can be made through their GoFundMe campaign.
