Magnify of Central Florida’s On-the-Job Training program provides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities meaningful work opportunities that build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. One participant, Nick, found purpose and pride through his placement at Heartland Haven, a nonprofit horse ranch that rescues and retrains horses to promote healing and personal growth. Through this partnership, Nick gains hands-on skills and workplace experience by caring for horses and maintaining the ranch, all while receiving support from job coaches and ranch staff.

Nick’s varied responsibilities include feeding and walking horses, preparing special meals, cleaning stalls, painting fences, and maintaining equipment, helping him develop time management, safety awareness, and teamwork skills. This real-world training empowers him to grow and become a valued member of the Heartland Haven community. Magnify encourages support through donations to expand such opportunities for people with special abilities.
