The new Ross Exposition Center at the Lorain County Fairgrounds in Wellington has opened as a versatile, climate-controlled 67,000-square-foot venue designed to host a wide range of events year-round. Located next to the new open-air arena and campground, the modular facility features amenities such as bathrooms, showers, a warming kitchen, show and sale rings, advanced audio-visual systems, and livestock accommodations. This modern center transforms the fairgrounds from a once-weekly use site into a hub for weddings, sports competitions, trade shows, community events, and large-scale gatherings, significantly enhancing Lorain County’s event-hosting capabilities.
The Expo Center has already hosted events like the annual Kids Fun Show, which encourages youth participation in fair activities, and offers a comfortable, air-conditioned environment that benefits both people and animals. The facility is part of a three-phase fairgrounds improvement project, including the recently opened Maureen M. Cromling Memorial arena and a planned new Beef Barn. Lorain County officials and the Agricultural Society praise the Expo Center for its potential to attract more visitors and diverse events, marking a major advancement for the county’s community and agricultural activities.
