Mohali Gears Up for Punjab’s First Equestrian Festival on March 1-2

Preparations for Punjab’s first equestrian festival in Mohali on March 1 and 2 are underway, with deputy commissioner Komal Mittal ensuring all arrangements are in place by Friday evening. The festival will feature 250 indigenous breeds, including Marwari and Nukra, showcasing events such as horse jumping, ring competitions, tent pegging, and a fashion show with horses. There will also be performances by NZCC teams and Punjabi singers.

Various horse breeds from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and police and private stud farms have been invited to participate in the festival, which will take place at The Ranch, Forest Hill Resort in Village Karoran. The event will include cultural performances by NZCC teams during the day and musical performances by Punjabi singers Meet Kaur and Dilpreet Dhillon in the evening. The festival will feature a wide range of events, from lance tent pegging to dressage and show jumping.

Medical and animal husbandry teams have been deputed for the event, with other arrangements such as cleanliness and levelling being finalized. The festival will offer a diverse range of activities for attendees to enjoy, including horse displays, competitions, and cultural performances, making it a unique and exciting event for equestrian enthusiasts in Punjab.
