Michigan State Troopers Escort Escaped Horse During Blizzard on State Highway

During a blizzard near Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, a young horse escaped from its farm and ran about a mile north along a state highway in heavy snow and low visibility. Michigan State Police troopers, along with a U.S. Border Patrol agent, safely guided the horse to a nearby barn on a neighboring farm, where the owner later retrieved it.

The region is currently recovering from a historic blizzard that dumped up to 52 inches of snow, causing widespread road closures and power outages affecting over 100,000 homes and businesses. Local officials continue urging residents to stay home as crews work to clear main roads and restore electricity amid ongoing hazardous conditions.
