MHP Sellors Appoints New Partner and Solicitor to Strengthen Litigation Team

Limerick-based legal firm MHP Sellors has announced the appointment of Kate McInerney as a new partner and Claire Benson as a solicitor. McInerney, originally from Cratloe and now living in Quin, Co Clare, brings extensive experience in defence litigation, representing insurance companies across various court levels, as well as expertise in general litigation including recovery, defamation, judicial review, and commercial disputes. Benson, from Antrim and currently based in Ballina, Co Tipperary, specializes in defence litigation and employment law, having previously worked with Flynn O’Driscoll Solicitors in Dublin.

Managing partner Stephen Keogh highlighted that these appointments strengthen the firm’s legal services across Clare, Limerick, and beyond. MHP Sellors, which employs over 50 staff across its Limerick and Ennis offices, was recently named Overall Law Firm of the Year at the 2025 Irish Law Awards. The firm offers a broad range of legal services including commercial, property, litigation, regulatory, and private client matters, and earlier this year also welcomed Sarah Jane Whyte to its public and regulatory department.
