Meeker County 4-H’ers Shine at Minnesota State Horse Show

Meeker County 4-H’ers participated in the Minnesota 4-H State Horse show, showcasing their skills in hippology, horse judging, training, speech, showmanship, and drill team skills. Participants learn about various aspects of the horse industry and can train untrained horses through a five-step process. The experience helps youth develop communication skills and a deeper interest in horses, contributing to their success in school and potential future careers.

Participants from Meeker County achieved various placings at the 4-H State Horse Show, including in hippology, horse judging, showmanship, and western pleasure. The event allows youth to test their horse knowledge, participate in quiz bowls, and study horse science. Those who do not own or lease a horse can still enroll in the horseless horse project to participate in the program.

The Minnesota 4-H State Horse Show provides opportunities for youth to excel in various areas related to horses, such as equitation, pleasure riding, and horse-related demonstrations. Participants from Meeker County represented different 4-H clubs and achieved success in individual and team competitions, showcasing their dedication and skills in the horse project.
