Martin Clunes to Judge Supreme Horse Championship at New Heavy Horse Village, Royal Welsh Show

The Royal Welsh Show this year will feature a new Heavy Horse Village next to the horse ring, showcasing over 70 heavy horses across various competitions and displays. The village, created by Royal Welsh Ambassador Rhys Griffith, aims to promote knowledge and appreciation of heavy horse breeds, including mares, stallions, and foals. Acclaimed actor and horseman Martin Clunes, President of the British Horse Society, will judge the Supreme Horse Championship after touring the village, bringing his passion and expertise to the event.

Martin Clunes, a dedicated advocate for horse welfare and equestrian safety, expressed excitement about attending the show for the first time and judging the supreme horse. The Royal Welsh Show, held annually in Llanelwedd, is a major agricultural event celebrating Welsh livestock and rural life, attracting thousands of visitors with its competitions, demonstrations, and family activities. This year’s addition of the Heavy Horse Village promises a majestic and educational experience for attendees.
