At the Clallam County Fair, 4-H and FFA youth members like 15-year-old Paisley Morris are showcasing their skills in various livestock and horse events, competing for medals and prizes. Morris, who has already earned bronze and silver medals, is aiming for gold in horse showmanship, enjoying both the competition and the opportunity to teach younger participants. Other young exhibitors, such as 10-year-olds Avery Resser and Ember Frisby, are also actively involved, showing goats, sheep, and dairy cows while gaining valuable experience and looking forward to the social and fun aspects of the fair.
The fair is a community event that extends beyond the youth competitors, with volunteers like Teresa Beckstrom, who has a long family history with the fair, helping to create a supportive, family-like atmosphere. The event offers a chance for participants and visitors alike to engage with agriculture, animal care, and local traditions, making it a cherished annual gathering for the Clallam County community.
