LAPD Officers Rescue Animals and Fight Wildfires in Los Angeles

Los Angeles Police Department officers have been actively responding to multiple wildfires in the area this week, undertaking various missions including rescuing animals trapped in the fire zones. Notably, the LAPD’s equestrian unit assisted in saving horses caught in the Creek Fire in Sylmar, which began Tuesday morning and has destroyed at least 30 homes while burning nearly 11,500 acres.

Within city limits, LAPD officers also responded to the Skirball Fire near the 405 freeway and Mulholland Drive, which started early Wednesday and has burned nearly 500 acres, destroying four homes in Bel-Air. Both the Creek Fire and Skirball Fire remain uncontained.
