The Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) has issued a strict warning to horse owners in Ilorin against allowing their animals to roam unsupervised on major roads, citing serious safety risks to residents and road users. General Manager Hon. Jide Aina described stray horses as a significant public hazard that could lead to accidents, including fatal ones, and stated that any unattended horses will be seized with owners held accountable under Kwara State’s Environmental Health Laws.
KWEPA emphasized its zero-tolerance stance on environmental violations and called on horse owners to properly confine and supervise their animals to ensure public safety and road orderliness. The agency also urged residents to report stray horses and other environmental threats, promising intensified enforcement efforts as part of broader initiatives to protect the environment and promote a safe, sustainable living environment in Kwara State.
