Kentucky Horse Racing & Gaming (KHRG), the state’s regulatory body for horse racing, pari-mutuel wagering, sports betting, breed development, and charitable gaming, has introduced its first official logo featuring a horse integrated within the gold and black initials KHRG and the tagline “Kentucky’s Safe Bet.” In 2024, KHRG oversaw over $13.2 billion in wagers, with tax revenues supporting various state programs including breed development, equine research, education, aftercare, problem gambling assistance, and the Kentucky General Fund. The Office of Charitable Gaming, which joined KHRG in mid-2025, reported $1.3 billion in gross receipts in 2024, contributing more than $93 million to charitable causes.
Established as an independent municipal corporation by the Kentucky General Assembly in 2024, KHRG aims to enhance the racing and gaming experience for residents while ensuring integrity and safety. The logo, designed by BCH Agency with input from KHRG leadership, symbolizes the organization’s commitment to honoring Kentucky’s horse racing heritage while embracing future gaming opportunities. Governor Andy Beshear and board members emphasized the importance of horse racing to Kentucky’s economy and expressed optimism for the industry’s continued growth under KHRG’s stewardship.
