Kent Farrington and Orafina Win $65,000 CSI3* Welcome at HITS Hudson Valley VIII

During the HITS Hudson Valley VIII event in Saugerties, New York, the $65,000 CSI3* Welcome class showcased top international show jumping talent, culminating in a thrilling victory for Kent Farrington and his horse Orafina. The competition, held in the Douglas Elliman Grand Prix Stadium, featured a challenging course designed by Alan Wade (IRL) that tested 38 horse-and-rider pairs on adjustability, scope, and precision. Farrington, currently ranked world number one, praised the high caliber of riders and the mix of experienced and younger horses competing at this prestigious three-star event.

The contest saw notable performances from Michael Walton and Blues RW, who posted the first clear round, and Nayel Nassar with Igor van de Wittemoere, who forced a jump-off. Ultimately, Farrington’s skill and Orafina’s agility secured their win in the jump-off, with Daniel Bluman and Kapitaal L finishing second, and Brian Moggre with MTM Vivre le Reve taking third place. The event highlighted the strong presence of elite riders choosing to compete in the Northeast U.S. circuit during this championship week.
