Karuna Rescue is an animal rescue organization that primarily cares for abandoned, neglected, and mistreated animals, ranging from horses and yaks to birds and reptiles. Currently housing 52 animals, many of which are awaiting adoption, the rescue provides necessary medical care, often incurring vet bills exceeding $10,000. The organization relies heavily on community support to cover ongoing expenses such as veterinary care, feeding, and maintenance of their facilities.
To sustain their operations, Karuna Rescue is hosting a fall gala fundraiser on October 18th at Azalea Hall in the McKinleyville Community Center. The event, which also involves a collaboration with the Ray Center to open a candy shop providing youth jobs, aims to engage the community in a fun and educational experience while raising essential funds. Tickets for the fundraiser are available for purchase online.
