Join the Reins of Life Volunteer Team and Make a Difference in NWI

Reins of Life is a therapeutic horseback riding facility in NWI that serves children and adults with disabilities through various programs. Volunteers are needed to assist with lessons and feeding shifts, and no horse experience is required. The benefits of volunteering are immense, and the program is life-changing for participants as young as two years old.

A new volunteer training session is being offered on January 6 and 7 for community members age 13 and older. After attending the training, volunteers can assist with therapeutic riding lessons, school groups, and special events. Additional training is available for those interested in the carriage driving program or interactive vaulting. Volunteers interested in feeding must be 16 years or older and will receive private training.

One volunteer shared how rewarding it is to help ensure that the children can participate in their riding lessons. Reins of Life encourages community members to join their volunteer team and experience the immense rewards of helping others. To RSVP for the training sessions, individuals can call 219-874-7519 and leave a message with their email address. More information on Reins of Life and its programs can be found on their website.
