Horse Rescued After Getting Wedged in Wall: Howard Freed by Fire Service

A one-year-old horse named Howard became stuck in a narrow gap next to a building at his stables near Duxford. Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service officers had to sedate him in order to free him from the tight spot. The horse had broken some boards of a barn, causing him to become wedged between the wall and a beam.

The fire service was able to free Howard after an hour of work, with only superficial injuries that will heal quickly. The wall had to be partially dismantled in order to rescue the horse. Howard’s owner reported that he seemed to have walked away from the incident okay, with only a few grazes and soreness. The horse was happily eating his dinner just an hour after being freed.

Despite the ordeal, Howard was freed without any serious injuries and was able to return to his normal routine shortly after the incident. The owner expressed relief that the horse was okay and thanked the fire service for their efforts in rescuing Howard.
