A barn fire occurred in Attleboro on November 12, resulting in the death of one horse. Firefighters responded around 3:30 p.m. to a large barn engulfed in flames at 40 Cumberland Street. Despite difficult access due to a narrow roadway, crews quickly worked to control the fire within 20 minutes, preventing it from spreading to a nearby home. Multiple animals were rescued, and no residents or firefighters were injured, though the barn was a total loss.
District Chief Michael Maitland praised the firefighters’ teamwork and determination, emphasizing that their swift actions averted a larger tragedy.
