The Grand Henham Steam and Country Show, held annually at Henham Park near Southwold, celebrated its 49th year this weekend, running from Saturday, September 20, until 6pm today. The event features a variety of attractions including steam engines, motocross riders, dog agility teams, live music, and special displays such as the Stannage Stunt Team and the East Anglian Heavy Horse Display Team showcasing breeds like Clydesdale and Suffolk Punch. Visitors also had the opportunity to steer steam engines in a designated area, with donations accepted.
The show supports the charity Henham Steam Rally Ltd, which benefits several local organizations including Wangford Community Council, Blyth Valley Rotary, and the Parochial Church Councils of nearby villages. The event not only offers entertainment but also serves as a community fundraiser, bringing together enthusiasts and families for a day of country-themed activities and displays.
