Gregory Alan Lebsock Obituary: Celebrating a Life of Passion for Horse Racing and Family

Gregory Alan Lebsock, 62, of Sterling, Colorado, passed away on February 7, 2025, at his home in Malcolm, Nebraska. Born in Denver and raised in Merino, Colorado, Greg developed a lifelong passion for thoroughbred horse racing through his family’s farm and horse stable. He became a respected jockey agent and later an owner and breeder of thoroughbreds, notably breeding and racing Miss Battlefield, Colorado-bred Two-Year-Old Filly of the Year, and posthumously honored as Breeder of the Three-Year-Old Runner-Up Nebraska-Bred Filly of 2025 for Adeterminedmom, named after his mother.

Beyond his professional achievements, Greg cherished his family, especially his grandchildren Ripley and Riker, and was a devoted supporter of his nieces and nephews. A passionate Colorado sports fan, he enjoyed attending games with his dog Poe by his side. Known for his generous heart, humor, and spirited personality, Greg is remembered fondly by his surviving family members and is now at peace. Services will be announced later.
