Graded stakes winner Fort Bragg, a 5-year-old son of leading sire Tapit, will begin his stud career next year at Robicheaux Ranch in Louisiana. Bred in Kentucky and sold as a yearling for $700,000, Fort Bragg had a successful racing career with multiple graded stakes wins and placings, earning nearly $600,000. Notable victories include a narrow win over future Grade 1 winner Saudi Crown in the Dwyer Stakes (G3) and a strong performance in the St. Matthew Overnight Stakes at Churchill Downs. He retired with a record of 5 wins, 3 seconds, and 3 thirds from 17 starts.
The stallion will stand for $1,700 for Thoroughbred mares and $700 for Quarter Horse mares, with a live foal guarantee for Thoroughbreds. His new ownership group, Round Potrero, aims to support Louisiana’s growing regional breeding program and attract serious horsemen from both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse disciplines. They are also offering complimentary breeding seasons to breeders aged 35 or younger to encourage new entrants into the breeding industry and foster the next generation of horse owners.
