Germany Claims 26th Team Gold at European Championships

Germany secured their 26th team gold at the European Championships, with Chef d’Equipe Klaus Roeser praising the team’s outstanding performance. The victorious squad, comprising Werth, Wendy de Fontaine, Katharina Hemmer with Denoix PCH, Frederic Wandres with Bluetooth OLD, and Ingrid Klimke with Vayron NRW, achieved a combined score of 229.644%, topping the leaderboard. Despite some individual challenges, such as Klimke’s less-than-ideal performance and Wandres’ minor mistakes, the team’s collective effort ensured their triumph.

The riders expressed a mix of relief, joy, and gratitude for their success. Werth highlighted the competition’s unpredictability and the excitement of the event, while Klimke credited her teammates for the gold. Wandres reflected on his performance with optimism despite small errors, and Hemmer, who led overnight and finished seventh on her debut, marked the week as a memorable milestone in her career.
