Geegees Mistruth had an outstanding season, winning three major accolades at the 2025 Tasmanian Thoroughbred Racing Awards, including Ladbrokes Horse of the Year, Armidale Stud Leading Tasmanian Racemare or Filly, and Devonport Racing Club Three-Year-Old of the Year. Trained by Stuart Gandy, the mare’s notable victories such as the Group 3 Mystic Journey Stakes and Vamos Stakes, along with consistent Group-level placings in Victoria, highlighted the quality of Tasmanian racing talent. Tasracing CEO Andrew Jenkins praised Geegees Mistruth as a standout example of excellence in the industry.
The awards night also honored three new Tasmanian Racing Hall of Fame inductees—sire Wordsmith, popular mare Still A Star, and jockey Garry Glover—alongside various other winners recognizing achievements in breeding, training, jockeyship, and industry service. Jenkins emphasized the event’s role in celebrating the dedication and passion of all participants, underscoring the strength and community importance of Tasmanian thoroughbred racing.
