Sydney Feager, a sophomore at TCU from Missouri, has shown remarkable resilience and determination in her collegiate horsemanship career. From riding her first horse at age four to competing in multiple shows and earning her first collegiate victory in 2023, Sydney’s journey was marked by hard work, family support, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. After attending various college riding camps and changing trainers to advance her skills, she committed to TCU despite a modest show record. Her progress was nearly derailed by a severe car accident in October 2023, which left her with life-threatening injuries and a long, grueling recovery involving multiple surgeries and rehabilitation.
Despite the devastating accident, Sydney’s unwavering spirit propelled her to overcome immense physical and emotional challenges. She returned to riding just months later and became a starter on the TCU team as a freshman, embodying the power of hope, faith, and perseverance. Her experience taught her to appreciate life’s small moments, cherish relationships, and never take anything for granted. Sydney’s story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the importance of resilience in pursuing one’s dreams, inspiring others to believe that even the hardest obstacles can be conquered.
