Former New York Rep. Michael Grimm Left Paralyzed After Horseback Riding Accident: GoFundMe Page Set Up for Recovery

Former New York Rep. Michael Grimm was paralyzed in a horseback riding accident in September, leaving him in a devastating situation. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with his recovery and treatment to walk again. Grimm, a former Marine and FBI agent, is currently a host for Newsmax.

Former City Council member Vincent Ignizio has stated that Grimm needs help covering the substantial costs that insurance doesn’t cover for his recovery. Newsmax correspondent Alex Salvi has shared the donation link, encouraging followers to donate if they can. The Hill has reached out to Newsmax for comment on the situation.

Grimm served in the House from 2011 to 2015, when he resigned after being convicted of tax fraud. He launched a campaign in 2017 to reclaim his seat, but was unsuccessful. The accident was first reported by the Staten Island Advance.
