Forgotten Hearts Horse Sanctuary Owner Rebuilds After Traffic Stop Lawsuit and Negative Press

Lana Hubler, owner of the Forgotten Hearts Horse Sanctuary in Morrisdale, has dedicated over 30 years to rescuing neglected animals, including horses, dogs, cats, and rabbits. Despite her longstanding commitment and success in running the nonprofit sanctuary, her work was disrupted in June 2023 when she was mistakenly stopped by state trooper Austin Woolcock, who wrongfully accused her of drug use. The incident, which included an unwarranted search and public scrutiny, led to negative media coverage that damaged her reputation and sanctuary business. After filing a lawsuit against Woolcock, Hubler settled out of court in October 2024, receiving community support and legal vindication.

Despite the ordeal, Hubler remains committed to her mission of animal rescue and education on compassion and cruelty prevention. She plans to expand the sanctuary by hosting events, riding lessons, and music performances to engage the community. Friends and supporters praise her tireless dedication and believe the sanctuary will continue to grow and thrive, reflecting Hubler’s resilience and passion for her animals.
