Forever Young Resumes Training in Japan Aiming for Breeders’ Cup Classic

Forever Young, a 4-year-old colt by Real Steel trained by Yoshito Yahagi, has resumed full training at Japan’s Ritto Training Center after a successful Middle East campaign. Earlier in 2024, he won the $20 million Saudi Cup and placed third in the $12 million Dubai World Cup. His next target is the $7 million Breeders’ Cup Classic at Del Mar on November 1, with a prep race planned for October 1 in the Nippon TV Hai at Funabashi Racecourse.

The colt has also competed twice in the United States, finishing third in both the 2024 Kentucky Derby and the 2024 Breeders’ Cup Classic. Undefeated in five starts in Japan, including a win in the Tokyo Daishoten, Forever Young is the fourth foal of 2016 Santa Ynez Stakes winner Forever Darling. He was purchased for approximately $725,926 at the 2022 Japan Racing Horse Association Select Sale.
