The Forest County 4H Horse and Pony Club Show recently took place at the Forest County Fairgrounds, featuring 10 members ranging from 9 years old through recent high school graduates. Led by Amy Kuebler for seven years, the club emphasizes leadership, community, and building confidence rather than competition. The program is beginner-friendly, focusing on personal growth through horsemanship and teamwork.
Participants expressed the valuable skills they’ve gained, such as collaboration with horses and retraining them, while also highlighting the need for more members to enhance activities like the drill team. The kids enjoy the creative aspects of the club and the challenges it presents, with many particularly fond of barrel racing, which they showcased in front of a crowd on Sunday.
