The first Victory Horse Race took place on December 15 at the al-Hadbaa racetrack in al-Quriyah town, Deir Ezzor province, drawing strong public interest and participation. Organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Syrian Equestrian Federation, the event featured over 50 horses competing in a flat-race format, showcasing impressive speed and technical skill that captivated local equestrian fans.
Officials hailed the race as a major sporting milestone for the region, emphasizing its role in boosting local tourism and celebrating the Bedouin heritage of Syria’s desert areas. The event also aims to foster the development of equestrian sports nationwide by connecting provinces and horse-breeding farms, with organizers committed to sustaining such traditional sporting events to preserve Syria’s rich equestrian legacy.
