Filming Underway in Edinburgh for Third Series of The Buccaneers

Filming for the third series of the hit period drama The Buccaneers has begun in Edinburgh, with St Vincent Street transformed into an 1870s set. The production, believed to be for Apple TV, has also involved road closures in several nearby streets. Previous seasons were also filmed in Edinburgh and other Scottish locations, despite the story being set in places like New York, London, and Cornwall. The first season was shot entirely in Scotland in 2022, using historic sites such as Culzean Castle and Newhailes House.

The show follows spirited young American women navigating love and societal challenges in England. Series creator Katherine Jakeaways expressed excitement about continuing the story, while Apple TV teased that season three will see the characters fighting back against new challenges, including the arrival of a mysterious Duke threatening Tintagel’s future. The series continues to blend historical drama with personal and societal conflicts, maintaining strong viewer engagement.
