Eventing Nation Weekly Recap: Area II Championships, Woodside Fall International, and More

This past weekend featured a busy slate of eventing competitions across the country, including the Area II Championships at Maryland Horse Trials, Woodside Fall International in California, Apple Knoll Farm in Massachusetts, WindRidge Farm in North Carolina, Ocala Fall Horse Trials in Florida, and Middle Tennessee Pony Club Horse Trials. Riders competed at all levels from Starter through 4, with notable performances such as Will Faudree and Dee Why earning the Unofficial Low Score Award with a 19.2 in Novice 2 at WindRidge. Other top scores included James Alliston and HMR Rolan’s 37.2 in the CCI 4S at Woodside and Sharon White and Claus 63’s 29.3 in the 4* CT Test B at Maryland.

The events showcased strong competition across divisions, with winners and high scorers in categories ranging from Beginner Novice to Advanced and CCI levels. Highlights included Tamra Smith’s double wins at Woodside, multiple top finishes by riders like Tim Bourke and Hannah Lowin at Maryland and Apple Knoll, and solid performances by young riders and amateurs at Middle Tennessee Pony Club and Ocala. These results reflect the depth and breadth of talent in the eventing community as the fall season progresses.
